Why volunteer with us?

Mentoring can be life-changing for both the mentor and mentee. Many mentors report improved self-esteem and personal fulfillment by watching their mentees grow and reach their goals as a result of their help. For mentees, many need a positive role model and feel a desire to confide in an adult other than their family members.

Gardening in our community garden helps volunteers relieve stress, get in touch with nature, and discover a new bonding experience with their corporate teams. By tending to our edible garden, you are also helping provide fruits and vegetables to the Bayview families living in public housing.

Mentorship.

Many of our One-to-One Mentors start as Group Mentors, gaining experience and confidence while they wait to be paired with their mentee. One-to-One Mentors commit to spending two days a month with their mentee.

Gardening. 

For over five years City of Dreams has proudly cultivated an edible garden in the heart of Bayview Hunters Point. We welcome and are immensely grateful for the multitudes of volunteers who have helped us take care of our garden, often side by side with our local youth and residents.
